Day 3 - Como to Bolanzo

High in the clouds
Before today’s report I thought I’d give you an update on traveling in the age of Covid.

While Europe was late to get their act together before and after vaccinations became available, they appear to be ahead of the US in several categories.

Travel to France (where we first landed) and Italy, (our destination), if you don’t want to quarantine, requires a double vaccination card and a negative Covid test taken within 72 hours of arrival.

In Italy, all inside activities (restaurants, hotels) require you to show your vaccination card. They prefer the electronic type on your smart phone. In addition, some establishments you’re your temperature. They DO NOT have 25% of the population proclaiming to be anti-vaxxers……very civilized.

Now to race results. We moved from 24 (first day) to 18th (second day), back to 20th (after third day) even though on the last Regularity of the day we were only off by 1 second.

Our morning coffee stop in the Alps.
It's beginning to snow outside

The mountain scenery is beautiful as you drive in-and-out of the clouds. Sometimes you can see for 100 miles; while at other times you can’t see 10 feet in front of you when the clouds, fog and rain descend upon you.
